Message of Judging Committee Chairman (Mr. Kazuaki Emi)
They
say that humans acquired the textile craft at least 5000-6000 years ago. During
this long history, an enormous and innumerably diverse range of textiles have
been made by peoples in every region of the earth.
And
yet, there are no limits to textile creation. From the selection of raw fibres,
to the end creation resulting from the combination of the different component
technologies of spinning, twisting, design, dying, and finishing, a world of
unlimited possibility lays hidden in the realm of textiles.
We
look forward to your fashion trend-setting, original textile creations.
